​Apostle Highlands Golf Course sits 500 feet above Bayfield, WI and the dazzling blue waters of Lake Superior's Chequamegon Bay and the picturesque Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. The stunning views of Lake Superior, Madeline Island, Northern Michigan's Porcupine Mountains and the rugged shoreline of the Apostle Islands form the backdrop for a truly remarkable golfing experience in Northern Wisconsin.​

Apostle Highlands Golf Course is a par 72, 18-hole public Bayfield golf course that offers a friendly test and gorgeous vistas from 13 of the holes and many of its enormous, contoured greens. Measuring 6,332 yards from the longest of its 3 set of tees, Apostle Highlands rewards consistent placement over length, and the opportunity to tee off over "Lake Superior" on the 1st hole which features a small-scale replica of the big lake!

Apostle Highlands Golf Course in Bayfield, WI is one of the finest examples of Links golf anywhere in the world. It has a special place in my heart, with many happy memories taken place here. A beautiful course that has panoramic views everywhere you look. It is a stern test on a windy day and a joy to play anytime, this is a an absolute must for any golfer visiting the area.

I haven't played your beautiful course this century. Sounds like a long time ago. My wife and I played it lots of times after our visits to Big Top. The views of Lake Superior are priceless. I have countless pictures both video and still. The reason I'm writing is because I just read about the USGA Journal's Great Hole in their 2025/26 winter edition. I recommend your 12th as their next Great Hole!! One rainy day way back when few golfers were out I played it 5 times in row. I kept driving back up. The view is etched in my brain. Thanks to the designer!
